SIM800L GSM/GPRS Module

```
The SIM800L is a compact GSM/GPRS cellular communication module designed to add mobile connectivity to microcontrollers and embedded systems. It communicates with the host controller through a UART serial interface and is controlled using standard AT commands.
With a compatible SIM card and supported 2G network, the module can be used to send and receive SMS messages, make and receive voice calls and establish GPRS data connections. This makes it useful for remote monitoring, alarm systems, GPS tracking, telemetry, industrial automation and IoT applications.
The SIM800L operates across four GSM frequency bands and is designed for compact embedded applications. A suitable GSM antenna and a stable power supply capable of handling the module's current bursts are required for reliable operation.
The SIM800L is a 2G GSM/GPRS modem and does not provide 3G, 4G or LTE connectivity. Network compatibility therefore depends on the availability of compatible 2G service from the intended mobile network operator.
