Joystick Shield for Arduino

The Joystick Shield is an Arduino expansion board designed to provide a convenient physical control interface for projects. It combines a two-axis analog joystick with a joystick push-button and additional control buttons, allowing users to build interactive projects without wiring each input separately.

The joystick provides independent analog signals for horizontal (X-axis) and vertical (Y-axis) movement, while pressing the joystick activates an integrated digital switch. Additional buttons can be assigned in software to functions such as selecting options, controlling movement, changing modes or triggering commands.

Designed for direct connection to compatible Arduino boards, the shield is particularly useful for robotics and game-control projects. It can be used to control motors, servos, LEDs, displays, robotic vehicles and other devices requiring multiple physical inputs.

The exact button arrangement and pin assignments can vary between Joystick Shield revisions, so the installed board's silkscreen or documentation should be used when programming a specific version.
