AD8232 ECG / Heart Rate Monitor Module
The AD8232 ECG module is a compact analog front-end designed for acquiring electrical signals associated with cardiac activity. The AD8232 integrated circuit combines amplification and signal-conditioning functions to produce a clearer ECG waveform from the small electrical signals detected by electrodes.
The module typically uses disposable ECG electrodes connected through snap-style leads. Its analog output can be connected to an ADC input on a microcontroller such as an Arduino or ESP32, allowing the waveform to be sampled, displayed and processed by software.
The AD8232 is commonly used for electronics education, biomedical signal-processing experiments, wearable-device prototypes and heart-rate or ECG waveform acquisition. It is intended for development and educational applications and should not be treated as a medical diagnostic device.
