LDR Light Sensor Module
The LDR Module is a simple light-detection sensor based on a light-dependent resistor (LDR), whose electrical resistance changes according to the intensity of light falling on its surface. As ambient light increases, the resistance of the LDR typically decreases, allowing the module to detect changes in illumination.
Common LDR modules use a voltage-divider circuit to provide an analog output proportional to the detected light level. Many versions also include an onboard comparator and adjustable potentiometer, providing a digital output that switches when the measured light level crosses a user-defined threshold.
The module is easy to connect to Arduino, ESP32 and other microcontrollers and can be used for automatic street lights, day/night detection, display brightness control, light alarms, robotics, smart-home systems and general light-level sensing.
